1st Datchet (Ditton Park) Sea Scouts

Award Winning Scout Leader

On Wednesday 16th July, at the Windsor and Eton Annual General Meeting, held at the Eton College Natural History Museum, 1st Datchet Scout Leader Siva was presented the Medal of Meritorious Conduct award by Hamish Stout, Berkshire County Commissioner.

The Medal of Meritorious Conduct medal is awarded to those who have demonstrated, during their time at scouts, a level of conduct to an exceptionally high standard.

Siva has been with the group for over 10 years having previously been a Scout with us. He joined our leader team at the age of 18 and has been a real asset to our group since then.

Over the last few years Siva has been battling with some serious health issues, spending a lot of time in hospital and still manages to volunteer a lot of time to the group. On one occasion Siva spent all day at hospital and the first place that he wanted to go to on the way home was to Scouts to help with our weekly meeting.

Siva volunteers wherever he can at all of our events and is always promoting our group in the local area. He is training to be a kayaking instructor and regularly helps out during the Spring / Summer with the Scouts on a weekly basis down at Kingsmead Sailing Club.

We are very privileged as a group to have Siva as part of our team.
